You asked about which SC? 92/93 had the Gen2 M62. 94/95 had the Gen3 M62. Epoxy coated rotors for higher VE, and a redesigned inlet with a larger TB.

Yeah, so then it has the Gen2 M62? Cool, so then one of my dumb newbie questions is, what is the stock performance specs on the 94 SSEi?

No, it has the Gen 3 M62....

Performance wise they are rated at 225 HP and 275 Ft Lbs... But we have found that most of the SC 3800'* are under rated by a bit... There are a few things that you can do to it... But the largest concern will be the transmission..

For example, there have been several Series II 3800'* have pulled 260 Hp at the crank and 320-330 Ft Lbs at the crank and are rated for 240 HP and 280Ft lbs at the crank..

I believe an 94-95 SSEi in good shape, should pull a low 15second 1/4... There are a few that could tell you more...

One of the Admins here has a 95 SLE( supercharged ) which is a bit lighter than an SSEi and Pulled a 15.1 on crappy plugs and wires with sad tires.... lol

Oops.. My mistake. I typed too quick. I meant Gen3. I am just absolutely astonished that these cars can pull a low 15. In the quarter. I think I am going to like this car... that'* if I get it. I'm praying I do. So should my first mod be a pulley?

I did some mods to my Ciera and only get a 15.99 in the quarter, and that'* with 2.5 manifold back exhaust, CAI, and ported exhaust manifolds.

Yup, The Ciera does me well, but its getting old. I get a lifter tick when I start it up and it lasts for about 10 minutes. It has 101k. I broke a engine mount a few weeks ago and had to replace it. That sucked really bad. It'* getting rust along the bottom of the doors, so I think I'm due for a new car, hopefully the bonnie.

First mods should be a 180* thremo, good CAI with a heat shield, high flow cat. then you need to scan the car to see if your getting any knock with the stock pulley...then procede from there
