Default New 02 Bonneville SLE Owner Joining the Ranks!

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to make it known that I am now the proud owner of a Black 02 SLE thanks to the info provided on this site! Ive been driving it for a week now and I love it! The car came standard with Intermediate shaft noise, but that is a workable problem. I havent had any problems with doors leaking, yet... However, I have alerady put 550 into the front end!! 2 days after I bought the Bonne (55k on odometer) the drivers side CV axle began to make a terrible noise... full front axle job, new outer tie rod, and an alignment and good as new. Now, I realize that GM had multiple problems with these things, and Im willing to deal with them, hopefully I wont have too many of these darn little bugs that these cars seem to have.

One quick question though... anyone have a comprehensive list of upgrades for a NA 3800 other than drivetrain swap? Id like a comprehensive list of EVERYTHING that CAN BE DONE to this engine. And yes, I have searched, but searching wont give me a fully comprehensive list.

Other than that, I would like to encourage you guys who are interested in the audio and custom electronics side to check back with me and keep an eye out, as I plan on making this Bonne a rolling entertainment center. All work will be done by yours truly with some help from my buddies at Best Buy. Things too look for : Killer front stage, incognito mobile video, and one sub wonder (most efficient single sub alignment using a single 15" woofer.... Ive done a 139dB with 800 watts and 3.75 cubic feet tuned to 32hz with a single Adire Audio Tempest, and 143 with 1200 watts in the same box with a PowerBass Extreme 3XL-15D)

One more thing before I go.... Im a fiberglass junkie, but I just dont know If I can bring myself to do any glassing In the new ride :? ... any encouragement would be great! Or if anyone has actually done any glassing in their 00+ Bonnevilles, pics would be great as Im trying to get some Ideas of workable FRONT STAGE solutions

Peace Peoples,
Aaron

Welcome to BC!

As far as a comprehensive list of NA 3800 upgrades, that'* a tall order. It'* only recently that people, such as the folks here on BC have been focusing at all on the NA.

For sure, there are cam and lifter upgrades available along with the standard CAI improvements. There are even some pretty nifty low-cost flow upgrades that are being pioneered by some of the guys here.

Once you've gotten your feet wet a little, why don't you try a thread post that asks this question in the "Performance" section?

There are a few here who have done some real nice improvements to the NA'*, but it'* still somewhat open territory so to speak.

Yup,
I was running that one Adire in my girlfriends Explorer with an Autotek SX2300, It was metered at a non sanctioned local event. I didnt catch first place, but we were darn close with an install that took me all of 2 hrs to do, and it cost CONSIDERABLY less than the rest of them!

enough introduction... off to the rest of the forum to begin my modding.... see you guys around

A trip to our "Links" area will give you some idea of the depth of the performance aftermarket for Series 2 cars.
As far as appearance mods, it'* basically a DIY prospect. Not a lot of vehicle specific apppearance stuff for Bonnevilles.

Welcome to the club, and I guess it'* to late too warn you about the mod bug. Looks like it didn't just bite you, it mauled you!
