Default Winter Beater

I just picked up a '90 SSE for $500 from my uncle'* friend (uncle is on his 11th Bonneville). It has 288.8K miles one it (150k on the new engine). Transmission is original. Interior is prefect. He is a saleman and drove it all over the state until he got a Avalanche (his work pays for the gas so why not). I smashed up my '93 SHO a couple months ago and I'm just lookin' for a car to make me through the winter til I can get the M3 out. Should work out nice since the SSE has the same sized tires as the SHO and I got +$500 tires (retail, not paid) for the winter last year. I don't see the Bonneville ever seeing the F1'* the SHO got for the summer but who knows. As of right now I like the car. Couple little things need to be done like replace the CD player and fog lights but the other stuff I can live with (antenna doesn't go down, sunroof doesn't open but has power to the motor). Motor mounts are going but don't feel the need to replace those either. My do the thermostat this next week as the temp guage has never gotten over the 1/4 mark in the 150 miles I've driven it so far (not really gettin' much for heat right now which isn't good when ya live in Minnesota and winter is commin). May not drive it all winter if I end up fixing my SHO (just needs the core support pulled out, new hood $130 primed, headlight header pannel $32, headlights $60ea & a new license plate holder and it'd be set). Or I may just sell it to this guy at a dealership that wants it. Kinda hard to let go of it when I've put so much into it in the past year or so (new performance transmission with shift kit and beefed up internals (bulletproof), water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, accessory belt and tensioner, starter, high flow fuel pump, battery, plugs & wires, valve lashing, front & rear main seal, and more). Who knows what'll happen. For now, the Bonneville is a nice change of scenery and nice to drive (just wish it had side bolsters as I slide around in the seat). I'm sure I'll be peeking in here from time to time in the next few months. Thanks.
