Newbie from Ontario
Hello
Just picked up a 1997 Bonneville SSE for $872 (Ontario taxes included). Needless to say it needs a "fixer upper". It needs a good cleaning (especially the interior) and the windshield, grill, and headlight are toast, but the body isn't bad at all. There is some thick rust above the drivers side roof, but I've allready taken care of that...and everywhere else for that matter, I just need to figure out the paint code to get some paint
Other than that, I'm looking forward to getting this car on the road (also needs valve cover gaskets and potentially a new oil pan) but other than that....it should be a pretty solid car. I'll surely post pics when I get the ambition, but working on it in this weeks heat has not been fun
Look forward to talking with some of you and potentially meeting a few in the Southwestern Onrario area.

the actual price was $750 + tax.
it'* got alot of miles, but the 3.8'* are pretty solid motors so I'm not concerned It looks damn good after 10 hours of work on it....another 20-30 and I'll be happy.

cougar has a 2.5L V6 24v DOHC, I've upgraded it slightly by adding a shortram intake, SVT dual hoed upper intake manifold, SVT lower intake manifold, and a chip. It'* a fun little car, and handles better than any car I've ever driven, but lacks a little in the HP department.
EDIT: forgot...SVT optimized throttle body as well.

I went to take some pics of the bonneville today but the batteries in my camera were dead and so were my backup batteries
The batteries are on the charger right now.....should have pics by end of Saturday, but I'll post them in the members rides section.
Yesterday I...
spent 4 hours cleaning the interior....the seats have gone from grey leather to beige leather (literally)
the carpets went from black to beige (literally took 2 bottles of carpet cleaner and allmost 3 hours of scrubbing and 1 steam clean at the end)
When I went to work my dad was was priming the sanded down rust spots....we have sanded and primed:
1) 6'' by 8'' patch on the back passengers side door (at the seam of the 2 doors)
2) 4'' by 5'' patch on the front passenger door by the fender (also on drivers side)
3) 3'' by 1-3'' patch on the passenger quatrter where the tail light/bumper meet
4) 2 spots 4'' by 6'' on the drivers side roof above the door drim and windshield
5) 7 or 8 spots on the hood
Once the body work is done I'll take it to the shop....from there I or my mechanic will be doing:
brake lines
valve cover gaskets
oil pan gasket (possibly oil pan...we'll see id there is a good seal)
muffler
then its:
headlight
windshield
DONE!
I seriously wish I would have taken pics of the interior before I worked on it and after it was complete....the reaction would go from : to

Look forward to seeing your pics- and what color is your 97?
under 1000 thats one hell of a deal-
3800 are great-
You'll enjoy the doing her up- my 91 was a POS when I got it- but half of the fun is re-doing everything.
We should see if this is an aniversary edition....
