Hi! I'm glad I found this site.
We have a problem with a 2001 Grand Am. Something has broken and the tilt steering is stuck all the way up. The lever feels like it is in the forward position that would normally allow you to adjust the steering wheel. It'* been this way for several months and my 87 year old mother drives this car so we really need to get this fixed.
A few months ago my brother-in-law took it to a place that was recommended in the small town we live in and they said they "think they can fix it" but they don't know how long it might take and they charge $55 an hour for labor so obviously we want it to take only an hour, not 4 or 5...lol!
I'm hoping someone on this site knows how to fix this and approximately how long it should take so we have a ball park idea of how much it will cost. Also since they only "think" they can fix it, it might be in my best interest to have instructions!
Thanks for any info you can provide.
