Parting with my '95 SSEi
I just purchased an '01 to replace my '95. (insurance co. is totalling it) I wish I could save it but calculated that the repair cost will probably slightly exceed the value, if you plan to repair correctly.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions what I should try to save from the '95 before I let the insurance company take it. So far, I'm thinking the wheels and */C. The front bumper, grille and hood were damaged in the accident.
Anyone find something else that could be useful either for my '01 or anyone else out there need something off this car before I say a sad farewell?

Salvage everything possible. We are part vultures on here. Take the seats, HUD, SC, Wheels, taillights, headlights, spoiler, anything you can get off of it.

BTW what rims you got on the 95? What color? If they are white, I call them. I will buy them.

The wheels are painted silver. If I could figure out how to attach a photo, I would.
The rest of the car is black. I'll see if I could save the tails and spoiler wo anyone missing them.

The A/C compressor was ONE week old when the accident happened. I think the evaporator was also replaced. The condensor however was crunched in the accident.

WHOA, whoa, whoa.... they say the repairs are more that what the car is worth!? That is not right at all. You can get all the parts I see from a donor SSEi in a junkyard. That could be made a great car. I wonder if I could buy it and tow it here somehow.

The insurance company was estimating $7500 to repair and only $4500 market value. I figured that with a donor car and installing used airbags could save quite a bit. Also if you could add labor yourself, you could save more. My calculation (if I did most of the labor myself) was about $1,500 for parts and maybe $1,000 more for body shop expertise to realign the frame properly and paint nicely. Figure maybe another $500 or so in miscellaneous items that may not be obvious until you are repairing. That would have cost me about $3000 plus the $550 the insurance company wants for salvage value. If I had the time right now I would do it in a heartbeat, but realistically I would have maybe one day a week to work on it. If you want to try to save it, I would do whatever I can to help out. This car seemed to come with one of the engines built on a good day at the factory and would run with mustang 5.0'* bone stock. I have until Monday when the insurance company comes with the tow truck.
