Default Hello Looking to get into Bonneville Scene

Currently i drive a 1987 Toyota Supra Turbo. Which i love to drive and tinker with. But with a soon to be wife and a wonderful son. Fitting them in the back of it just does not happen. I have always loved the 3.8 SC motor lots of low end torque is a majorly fun engine. And very reliable considering most forced induction engine problems. Well that gives you a little bit of info about myself and i will soon have a bonneville so that i can contribute and join in on the fun.
Thanks Andy

Welcome!

Now question is, what years are you interested in? There are the 92-95'* with the Series I, with the Eaton M62 Supercharger, and there are the 96+ Bonnevilles with the Series II, with the Eaton M90 Supercharger.

The Series I has way more low end torque compared to the Series II, but the Series II has more aftermarket.

I was looking at a 95 ssei with series 1 been tryin to find someone to trade even up for my car but it looks like im gonna have to sell my b4 pruchase. I would loev to have a series 2 just because i live in newark ohio which is a short trip to Intense-Racing which im pretty sure is located in columbus. But im thinkin series 1 is more in my price range right now.

The Series I is a great engine. There may not be much aftermarket, but there sure is alot to do to it to unlock its potential. Go ahead and look that 95 over real well, it may be a good choice.

Welcome to BC Andy!

You seem to be headed in the right direction. Just know that while the S1 sure has a lot of potential, it will take more work on your part due to the relatively weak aftermarket. There are plenty gains to be had with various careful porting and polishing mods proven out here.

Whatever you get, there'* lots of modding fun to be had.

The nice thing about the 95 is a good friend of mine is doing body work on it. So it is gettin a fresh coat of paint and some rust problems eliminated. He might trade me even up. But if not im gonna try and sell my car and buy it. I will have to investigate these horsepower tricks. I have the 87 turbo supra aftermarket support is not overly abundant until the 4th gen supra hehe. Heck every time i have bought brakes for the car i had to order them which is rediculous.

you have to excuse Pinky...he is grossly worng.....the Series has EVERYTHING that the Series 2 does in the aftermarket except an Intercooler...

you will be happy with the Whine, and the Performance of the 95
