NEWBIE SSEi
Hey all!,
im not new to the coar world, but i an to the bonneville world. I just bought a 97 40th SSEi and i love it so far. I was on a couple of other forums and i was lead to here. im a huge fan of the 3800 supercharged engines, so thats the reason i got this car.
hopefully i can find a ton of info here about upgrades and such.
I got the car for a steal, but has a few dings and dents, along with it had a gas leak on the plastic lines.
well ill see ya around the board.

Welcome from Lindenhurst, IL..50some miles south of you.
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article&k=21 < Specs on your model. You have one of 637 40th SSEi'*. Quite a rare car. Get some pics up of that beretta and the bonneville! I'm interested in seeing that Beretta.

Yeah before i bought the car i found out it was infact rare! when i googled it i found one that was like a dark purple.. i think i have seen it on here as well
i Hope to do small mods to it to give it a little extra kick. i would like to get it to the low-mid 14s as a goal. i heard that the 97s were like a freak year and not much computer modding can be done to them. so ill have to hope for the best.
I have tons of pics of the beretta project. basicly i swaped an 03 impala engine into it and drove it for a year N/A. Best ET was 14.3@95 stock 3400. well it got slow to me, so i decided to take it one more step. threw a syclone turbo on it since the map works well with my engine, and fabed pipes and what not. got the turbo grand prix BIN and real time tunner and chip burner. have not run the car since i got the tuner. i had someone do a basic tune so it ran rich, but it turned out too rich. with 10s for A/Fs i ran a 13.9@109 with much wheel spin. i hope to hit very low 13s or 12s when tuned and grip.
pics ill post in another area. also ill get some pics of the bonneville. its silver with a few dents from hail. my air shocks are leaking, and needs an oil pan bad. i just got an intake gasket set that needs to be done. oil everywhere. i want to do a brake upgrade 12" rotors and dual piston calipers. im going to make a true CAI. and do some research on mods that the stock ECU will acount for with no tunning.

Not RARE.
The 40th bonnevilles got:
1. C pillar badges
2. RPO code Y40
3 Custom interior floor mats.
Uncommon, yes, but not rare. This isn't intended as a put-down, but many believe the 40th'* are 'worth' more are are more desirable. I'm very glad we 'saved' another, but at the same time, I feel it'* important you know what you have.
Glad you're here! You'll fit in just fine with us.

Welcome aboard it'* been pointed out to me the 40th SSEi are not purple but in fact "Dark Cherry Metallic" and it'* my belief if there was only 637 of any car built that eleven years later it would be considered "rare"- it may be just pillars, floor mats and RPO code but that is what makes it different from the other SSEi, but of course I am bias.
