out of ideas except for playing with the carb settings, but i did it once about 14 yrs ago so im not going to remember what to tell you

Check the ground for the fuel pump. The ground may be intermittently connecting, maybe why it idles ok but struggles when you go to move. On the 2000 S10s the ground for the fuel pump is located on the frame near the driver side tail-lights. I do not know the location for a 1982.

I have seen bad grounds on two S10s. The ground wire is braided and it gets nicked over time and allows the pump to work at times, not at others.

1982 S10 has a mechanical pump.
