Can a bolt to the block be left out of a replacement motor mount?

I had a 86 firebird with a TPI 350 and a 700r4, I know what your talking about with the trans mount, the torque bar from the rear end does make a big pull on the back of the trans. I put like 4 mounts in mine in 2 years. When 2nd gear would hit hard Bang! the trans is hitting the floor pan if the car.

mine originally had the 2.8, so that didnt have enough power to break anything. i figured that would happen though when i changed to the 8 cylinder stuff. the poly one has been fine though. its always been a weird design to me, doesnt seem like they would want that stress on the trans housing. but they hook good as long as you dont screw up the angles of the control arms and torque arm.
