Default Blend door actuator 04 yukon

Well I took the family to the state fair yesterday and on the way home the blend door actuator on the drivers side of my Yukon decided to go wacko and went to full hot. I shut off the AC unit and tried sweeping the temp control back and fourth but I couldn't get the actuator to go back to the cold side. It has done it to me once before but it went back to cold after five min or so. I'm pretty sure I need to replace the actuator but I can't find a break down of my AC box to locate the actuator. I think its on top of the the AC unit and I need to pretty much take the whole dash apart to replace it. Also Rockauto is a little confusing on what actuator to order. I have option code CJ2 and the one that says its for the temp says it is for CJ3, I only want a AC Delco replacement not Dorman.

Any input would be helpful!

dont know about what part it is but, my fathers silverado is doing the same thing every once in a while and he said if he turns it off for a minute it goes back to normal. it happens infrequently enough he said he can deal with it. i would be interested in more info if you find it, i may end up doing it myself if it gets worse.

Thanks Justin, it was way cheeper through Amazon than what Rockauto was offering it for. I went ahead and ordered it. When it comes I will figure out what actuator it is with the Tech II. I'm pretty sure it'* on the top of the heater box. I remember doing one while working at the dealer and I remember ripping most the dash apart to get to it.

The left side temp actuator is on the bottom of the hvac case. The one on top controls the passenger side.

Thanks Greg I just had it in my head that it was the other way around. I know I've replace them both on customer cars and remember the top one being a bitch exspecially with a center console because the seats need to come out to remove the console to remove the dash panel.

Just didn't want you to tear the dash out for the wrong actuator. That would suck lol!!
