Default Programming a new key for my 2013 chevy silverado

Last night I went out with some friends and ended up losing my keys. I lost my spare key a while ago and haven't remembered to get a new one.

I went to the dealership and got a new key cut, and the guy explained how to program a new key.

Now, were at the car, and trying to program the key. Whenever I turn the ignition to the ON(run) position, the alarm goes off for 5 minutes, and the indicator light stays on for its normal 10 minutes or so.

I did it 3 times, like the mechanic told me, and the car did not start. I cannot unlock the car from the inside either.

Inb4 you shouldn't have lost the spare or you should have gotten a spare made sooner. Please help me, my truck is stuck in Washington DC in a days inn parking lot, I would really like to be able to go home with it tonight without paying 200 for a tow truck.

Thanks !

Problem is, you need one of the original "working" keys to program additional keys. During the setup process, you have to use the "working" key to start truck, turn off, then insert new key within 10 seconds of turning off with the old one.

If none of the original keys are available, the dealer will have to program it manually with a Tech2. So, you are looking at a tow anyway to the dealer. Prepare to show complete ownership of vehicle.

Thanks a lot for the help, I wont be able to do anything since most dealerships around me are closed on sundays. But, something may happen!
