2004 Silverado 1500 Z71 transmission problems
I did a transmission service (flush, gasket, filter) yesterday. We had some trouble getting the pan off because the exhaust crosses the truck directly under the pan, so we had to use a little more force than is usually necessary to pry it out. I also replaced the transfer case control module (with a refab, preprogrammed module) and did a transfer case flush. Now I have very little power in D. The truck doesn't move in Park and reverse works just fine. We're thinking either the shift linkage is loose or we busted a switch for the gears. Just wondering if anyone here has any other ideas.
Thanks in advance for the help

You might have nipped one of the shift solenoids. If its the 4L80-e, there is a solenoid right at the front of the valve body that practically hits the pan. I'd drop the pan and check for any damage.
I don't remember how the 4L80-E'* are programmed, but I believe your actually starting out in 2nd gear if you manually put it in 2nd.

I have the 4L60-E transmission, but it most definitely starts in 2nd when I do it manually. We were actually thinking it'* the solenoid. If it'* not the solenoid, any other ideas?
