I need more expert help i have a 1989 chevy silverado V8 5.7L and its been giving me trouble it started by boging down after i would crank it but when it got warm ran fine then it started dieing when ever i was up to speed and hit the brakes for a light the truck just cuts off and dies with little to no warning ive replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, coolant temperature sensor, thermostat, the distributor and all the cables, ignition coil, spark plugs ive ran out of things to do so if anyone has any ideas on what it could be

They rarely go bad but it could be the MAP sensor. It'* the sensor on the passenger side of the throttle body with a green electrical plug and a hard plastic vacuum hose going to the back of the throttle body.

Is it throwing any codes? When it won't start have you checked for spark at each cylinder? I'm thinking possibly the ignition control module.

I thought that as well but he said he replaced the distributor

I think on that engine the ignition module is mounted on the ignition coil and is a seperately serviceable part. Not sure though.

No the throttle body injected motors all had the ignition modules in the dist. Your thinking of the vortech motors they did have the ign module mounted next to the coil.

sounds like a bad vacuum leak. possibly with the booster. plug the hole to the engine for the brake booster and see if it runs right. sometimes a bad leak like tb gasket or intake will be affected by brakes too. egr gasket is a common leak place on those too. to test for that run the engine and spray carb cleaner around the gasket areas and listen for the engine to change

You mentioned replacing the fuel pump. Did you also replace the rubber line between the pump and the housing. Seen many times the hose will split. Check your grounds especially the one near the t-stat. If they are stacked on top of each other, separate them.
