'07 Suburban Remote Start quit Working
2007 'Burb remote Start:
Changed batteries in both 'fobs' , reprogrammed according to manual, , Burb will not remote start or lock/unlock doors. If there is a computer failure in the vehicle, will an error code show up somewhere ?
No other problems or errors, just the remote start/lock system does not work.
Sometimes,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I have heard that disconnecting the battery for an hour + or - or so,, resets the computer [*] on various vehicles, any chance that will do anything ?

no,,, sorry for leaving that out,,,, that is why we tried new fob batteries, and reprogramming,,,, a few weeks ago,,,, it just stopped responding to fob commands, [ close up or far away ],,, then worked for a day or so,,,, now has stopped working again.

yes,,, we have the tire pressure monitoring system,,,,, there are no errors from that , so it is either working fine,, or it has stopped working as well,,,, guess I could let some air out of a tire and see if it reports a low tire,,,,,
There are no error codes or warnings displayed for anything.

the reason he asked is because the receiver for both is one module. if the tires are working the antenna and receiver part is working. i guess the receiver module my have an internal failure just with the key fobs. i dont know what else to tell you but the dealer scanner would likely be able to tell whats going on and if you need a module.

Thanx for the info guys,,,,, so if I lower the air pressure in a tire, and that does not show up as a low tire ,,,, the module could be bad,,,,, that is something I can do here,,, not very scientific ,, but could supply some added info,,,

You may need a re-program of the control module, or a new control module. Unfortunately, only the dealer has the correct diagnostic equipment to make that determination.
And Justin is correct about why I was asking about the tire pressure monitoring system. The control module is common to the two systems.

It depends on what type of tire pressure monitoring system you have. On my 2001 Bonneville low tire pressure is detected by the wheel speed sensors that detect differences in rotational speeds from one wheel to the others. There is no transmission, therefore no relationship to the receiver for the FOB commands. Other vehicles have TPMS transmitters in each wheel that actually transmit a signal to a receiver with tire pressure status. As far as I know, the receiver on those vehicles for TPMS will be a common receiver to the remote FOB transmitter.
