Default 1991 SSEI Project

I'm not sure just how this is going to work out for me. But I do have all the parts to start it. Here'* my plan: Starting with a 1991 Bonneville SSE1991 SSEI Project-img_1449.jpg with a broken engine good trans. I already pulled a 130K mile engine&trans for it from work, but it'* just a stock engine and that'* too easy. I want a bigger goal, something that stands out. So the 1992 supercharged engine that I have with 155K1991 SSEI Project-img_1446.jpgis the idea. Now the engine is complete with trans and all wire connections. I find it easy to take out (broken) engine, and drop */C engine in. The K frame is the same also the oil cooler lines from oil pump are a match. The motor mounts are close the original mounts are all on the bottom area mounting to the K frame. The */Ced engine has three that connect to the K frame and one on the passenger side body rail. This will be my first challenge.1991 SSEI Project-img_1445.jpg

1991 SSEI Project-img_1447.jpgWill update when I make it to this point.

The car looks very nice for it'* age. Is there any chance you can drop a newer, 97+ series2 engine in there? Might be a bit more work, but the added options it opens up might be worth the effort. Not to mention the added power. Otherwise, really look forward to seeing the project as it moves along.

I still have the heads and M-90 from a 1999 SSEI, if this fits the series1 engine block then I'm in on that.I will install it.This ? I don't know an answer for though.

I'm willing to bet Billboost would know, possible 1993 SLE as well. 1993 did a write up on putting a supercharger on a NA engine, let me dig that up, might have some useful information for you.

Well (broken) engine out and inspecting supercharged engine for similiar plugins and possible defects.1991 SSEI Project-img_1450.jpgFound the shift indicator wiring to be different but I will just put on the old one it bolts right on. The EGR is in a different location no problem I'll make the wiring work. Water outlet lines are at the wrong angle,if I cut them shorter they will be the right angle. So far the rest of the wiring looks the same. Only issue the rear header is cracked in several places time for my welder I suppose.Thats all for today till next time.

Update: I'am now looking into the engine going into the car. 1991 SSEI Project-img_1458.jpgIt needs cleaned and inspected thruoghly before going in the car. My plan so far is to rebuild the heads possibily port and polish. The bottom end I'am not sure what I want to do yet any suggestions would be.The supercharger is very dirty and needs coupler.1991 SSEI Project-img_1459.jpgThe exhaust is all welded and ready to be ported.1991 SSEI Project-img_1457.jpgI tryed to get the 1999 M-90 to work and I'll pass found that the exhaust would have to be purchased aftermarket to spendy right now. There are pulley differences and water jacket locations change also.It would be great if old man winter could go now too.1991 SSEI Project-img_1456.jpg

Got my heads back on friday with a new three angle grind on them they look great now time for the engine&trans to get all cleaned up and painted. Also have the coupler and seals gaskets on the way from ZZperformance (THANKS DAN) for the info. If I can get this all done this week I'll shoot for installation this weekend.
