seafoam.? how good is it and how much.?

seafoam.? how good is it and how much.?
i was just at the website www.seafoamsales.com and i was astonished at everything they say it will help and fix... 2 of the things i read make me want to buy it were
1) it says it removes catalytic converter odors. (mine smells like rotten eggs)
2) it says it cleand and free'* any stuck or sticky parts in the transmission.
( my tcc is giving me problems sometimes on my 88 sse making it shut off at 70mph.
and many other amazing things it says it does.
i personally never heard of sea foam untill about a month ago here on the site were someone said it made a smoke show on their block.....

I haven't read all the claims on the site, but it is a very good product, and has been around for decades. Farmers used to buy it by the case, and automotive mechanics always had some around to use on customers' cars. Search "seafoam" on this forum and you will find many posts about using it. The posts should tell you all you want to know about how much to use etc. I am not sure about using it in the tranny., just the engine.

There are two different Seafoams. One is for the engine oil, vacuum lines, and gas, and the other is specifically for transmissions. There are instructions right on the transmission bottle on how to use it, and you're even guaranteed you can just add it and go without a transmission fluid flush.
I'd recommend getting a quick fluid change. I'm aware Midas will just run some cleaning chemicals and then replace the transmission fluid instead of dropping the pan. That should work just fine, and it'* cheaper than most other places. After that, you can add Seafoam and then do another flush about 30K miles later. How hard do you drive the 88?

and for the 88 i drive it like race car.. the motor is strong and it gots incredible pick up like you would not believe.. still only has 79,000 miles and drives like it.. but i am heavy on the pedal when im running late for work or just when i want to have some fun.
but all in all the 88 sse see'* about only 4.,000 miles or less a year..
