dont' jsut give up on that car! see what you can get from the place that replaced it. You could also try some additives to the transmission just to buy you some time. I don't know man. That really sucks! You're always better off keeping a car than selling it though, that much I know..

the trans shop replaced everything but the torque converter clutch....dont get me wrong the trans is PERFECT in every other ways, it shifts so nice and is very smooth. I am going to use that existing trans which only has 60k on it and all those parts listed and just get a new TCC and a shift kit.

The car also sat for 2 years in storage...that was a month after the trans rebuild. I dont know if this had anything to do with it since in every other way the car is good.

either way I will get whatever it takes for a warranty, see I knew the way I drive, especially when I had my old tires on there that it was going to die.

There is no way I am getting rid of this though, there is not a spot of rust anywhere and the paint looks brand new.

Why would someone rebuild a trans and not replace the TCC solonoid? What the hell is the sense in that?

That sucks. And why they didn't replace the TC clutch is beyond me. If you rebuild a tranny you should rebuild/replace everything.

I thought my tranny was actting funny a few weeks ago. Ok so far, but I'm still a bit worried.

Hans, did you have any signs/symptoms of this happeneing and if so what were they?

alll the cars I have owned do this..they shudder when the TCC is locked in 3rd. only in 3rd, well maybe a litte in 4th but it is most noticable in 3rd, my olds still works and has been doing that for 2 years, Driverjohns car has been doing it from day one and the car still moves...

I doubt the trans is goiing to die, everything else was replaced in it and even if the TCC dies I belive it will still work. just will not kick down. This was the case with the car VigCS purchased I belive

Either way I feel relived at the same time because if I get the trans rebuild It will have a warranty and in general they cover just about everything, I will have the piece of mind for a year or two that I am good to go if problems come up.

So is it covered or are you going to pay to have it rebuilt?
