Read "five months before that." Hence, it was five months between replacing the alt and the batt. I didn't have any problems with the battery until a ling time after replacing the alt. I know when the alt went because of the horrible whining it made when the bearing went out. They were both put on new the day before I bought THE CAR in June 2000. Sorry for the confusion.

I should mention here that when my alternators died, it wasn't from bad bearings but because they just quietly stopped making any juice. Hence my recommendation to have the thing tested for output in case the battery doesn't turn out to be the problem...

I'll probably just get a new battery and hope that fixes it. Can't hurt it! I thought about switching to normal post battery cables instead of side post but i dunno. I will save up for a bigger alternator because I am updating my stereo sometime.

Anyhow, practically anyplace will bench-test your battery for free. If they say that it holds a charge, then the problem is not your battery, but your charging system (i.e. either bad cable connections or a bad alternator).
If you take the time to yank the alternator at the same time that you pull the battery (an extra 10 minutes should do it), then you can have both tested at the same time. One component will probably be good, the other will probably be bad, you buy a new <whatever> while you're in the store, and you'll have fixed the car in one trip. Good luck...

Ok it kinda fixed it but not totally. This morning it did it again but it will start off the charger now instead of having to jump it. It is the battery for sure and I am gonna put another one in either today or tomorrow.

I drove it a little ways and I think I'll drive it a little more. My system still bumps when it'* running so my alternator works. We'll see what happens tomorrow when I wake up to see if it starts. :?
