Default Why are you fixing up a Bonneville?

A C5 or maybe the new GTO is my car of choice but theres just something fun about making Bonnevilles faster.

I think its just the pure aspect that it doesnt attract attention in a sense that people who pull up to you arent looking for a race. I kind of like that. I know If I drove a Vette or GTO I would be picked on all the time at lights or on the freeway and sometimes you just wanna cruise around.

I eventually want to get on a track and Im sure my car will be something a little different. I dont see many Bonnevilles in San Diego as it is anyway.

And this would be a general chat topic.....

Make sure you get your post in the right places....

I myself prefer the sleeper idea. No one expects it...the BAM! You smoke'em.

Yep, sleeper all the way! Tons of F-Bodies around here.. and we all know most of them are pretty quick. But a Bonneville? Doesn't get a second look. Especially my white one.

I'm more interested in fixing up for show, I'm not into speed (uless I'm on they highway) I'd rather been spotted driving slow and flashy anyday just my 2 cents

F- bodies, hmmm... I can beat a stock LT-1. LS1, I need an IC and 3.0 pulley for that one. I want my car to be fast because its supercharged but has NO supercharged badging anywhere on the car. Trust me I see a lot of this in my rear view mirror

Corvettes are nice but when you lay rubber in one there are no suprizes, unlike the Bonneville

The element of suprise is key to a sucessful campaign.
For me fixing up is replaced with trying to keep up, the maintenence that is, but that doesn't mean the right pedal isn't applied as needed.
