Pretty much, sure. You have some suspicions...?

I'm usually at 2000 rpm or a little above at 65mph. But that'* not in cruise, I don't know if that would make a difference anyway.

Okay, maybe 2700 was high after all. I'll take a closer look at mine sometime.

Actually, if the transmission fails to go into torque convertor lockup (which it usually should have done once you stop accelerating at any cruising speed above 47 mph), you _would_ have a higher-than-normal engine speed for that road speed.

(This below is correct for the '93 models at least):

If you accelerate gently to a cruising speed of 50 mph, you should see and feel an apparent upshift at 47 mph, with rpms dropping at that point when the TCC solenoid engages and the torque convertor is bypassed, locking the engine to the drivetrain. If you can use your cruise Resume/Accelerate controls to set a cruise speed at 45 mph, then step upwards from 45 mph to 50 mph (use the little slide button on the turn-signal lever; each momentary press of the slide gets you precisely 1 mph increase) and no upshift occurs, then your TCC solenoid is either bad or disconnected. Suggest you try this test and see.

Why weren't you in OD? You will get WAY better gas mileage whenever you drive over 50 MPH if you leave it in OD. By the way, My SSE turns about 2000 RPM at 70 MPH.

Definetly put it in OD, or you will have problems at higher speeds.
