I've said this before: Too far away. Given what I need to do, those that are more than 40 miles away are just logistically undoable. Imagine if you were a seller and you heard this: "Okay, I like the car, but I'm going to need you to sit on it while I go home, run a Carfax, check with my parents, then come back up with the money. Oh yeah, and I need you to bring it to a mechanic so we can make sure the car is all right."
Okay Yea, I could probably find a nationally-known auto repair place for the car inspection, but the logistics just are NOT on my side. Especially considering my new 9-to-2 Monday-thru-Thursday college schedule. Combine that with my dad'* continually crappy health (not life-threatening, but he'* always in some kind of duress) and you can see why it'* hard for me to jump on things that are THAT far away
Find stuff in or near Stuart, Hobe Sound, Indiantown, Port St. Lucie, Ft. Pierce, Jupiter or West Palm Beach, now, and we can talk...

I live in Coral Gardens in Stuart. Take a look at the Mapquest page: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...&zipcode=34997
Search accordingly

Like others have said and I've got a couple mechanic buddies. When you roll it into them for a look over, they look for wet spots underneath, odd noises, prolly check ball joints and an overall look.
You can never be sure that a month later something doesn't blow. I picked up my car, drove it 30 miles home, 20 miles to work the next morning and on the way home the plastic tube from the waterpump going into the intake broke off and blew the antifreeze out. Would probably never have been picked up by the mechanic looking it over. Less than 24 hours after I bought the car it was being towed.... What can ya do???? Wasn't the sellers fault...wasn't my fault... if anyone was to blame it was an engineer and an accountant at GM that liked plastic.
The point I am trying to make is if you keep staring in the window of any store long enough the item you are looking at will be sold to someone else.

Doesn't matter anyway. That Trofeo? A nice car, but I felt like a clown in one of those little clown cars in the thing. Too small, and, more importantly, very uncomfortable for me :( Sucks too, thing was nice, but if you don't fit, you don't fit! Oh well, guess I should just stick to H-bodies...
And what'* this about them NOT keeping the deposit? If you decide you don't want the car, they keep the deposit, right?? If not, then what the helI is the point of a deposit???
You're point is made, though, regardless. As it has been made before by friends and family. I don't poke, but I don't rush into anything, either. When the time comes, I'll find THE car. Until then, though, the search goes on. Participate at your discretion...
(And yes, I don't have the time: 1 1/2 times the recommended course load, along with working on my "off" days, will do that to you )
