2002 bonneville SLE TPS Sensor
I was just wondering, if i were to get a new TPS could i just change it? Or do i have to go to the dealership or a local mechanic to get it adjusted after its installed? I read this in my haynes manual.

well ive had a problem with the car taking a while to start sometimes when the car is still warmed up. It only does it when its warmed up already. Like if its up to temp and i leave and go back to it 15 mins later it wont do this all the time but every once in a while it will just take a bit to crank over. Ive read on here it could either be IAC, IAT, or TPS. Ive replaced the IAT. Now im gonna try the TPS.

Unplug the MAF and see if that makes a difference. It will stumble a bit at first and then settle down, you will also get a SES light. But from you said it sound more like idle air control or a dirty throttle body.

well it may very well be the throttle body. Also when the car is warmed up it seems like the throttle gets stuck a little. I have to the the accelerator pedal a little more umph to sort of break it lose if u kind of understand what im saying. Like upon starting it if i just let it set for a min it will be fine. But if i start it and go it gets stuck a little. Im gonna change the IAC then do the throttlebody. It looks complicated to take apart. LOL

If the throttle sticks as you mention. Most likely your TB needs the mentioned cleaning. While you are there take out the IAC and clean it and the hole for it. Excess vacuum will cause trouble starting. Warm goo can cause sticking of IAC and throttle plate.

Cleaning the TB is simple, just take out all the sensors, you can actually leave the TPS in but take out the rest and buy a bottle of TB cleaner from AutoZone and blast all the crap out of there
