Default 03 SSEI or SLE

New Memeber looking for input...I'm currently looking at getting an 03 Bonneville...
One is Silver SLE Loaded minus Heads up disp.
The other is Black and SSEI Loaded minus Heads up & Heated Leather.

My dilema is that I like both. I'm trading off my 03 Tahoe z71 that I also love which is loaded to the tilt...so I'm getting only a $300 better deal on the Silver one vs. the Black one..I'm wondering is $300 better deal worth me liking the Silver car or Should I just go with the SSEI since it'* worth more than the SLE by much more than just $300.

Pros & Cons on SLE VS. SSEI? I don't know...obvious Supercharged is the biggest pro but in the long run I see myself getting less fuel milage with the Supercharger because I'm going to be in the throttle all the time...

I'm just rambling but I don't know what to do.

Sounds like you'd enjoy the power of the SSEi

How do the two cars compare for options. Usually the SSEi'* are a little more optioned out. However we've seen them w/o options as well.

I'm a gadget kinda of person. Love the SSEi'* for the options plus the power. Mileage on trips is very good, around town is good. However the minute my foot hits the go pedal too hard and too often mileage can suffer. My worst mileage so far with a smaller pulley (uses more gas) has been 20mpg.

20mpg, heavy foot, pulley - that sounds to be not THAT horrible... I mean, Doughboy *is* going from a Z71 Tahoe... 5.3L I gather

Just the fact that this is now premium fuel... if you need to pinch every penny, SLE may be wiser. Otherwise, spring those few extra bucks a tank and boost all the way

Yeah...5.3 Tahoe...15-16 mpg best case typically 12.5...With my lead foot...I race Sprint Cars as my hobby so being easy on the pedal isn't very easy for me.

Both cars have the exact same options just the differences that I have listed...both have Onstar, dual climate, leather, chrome wheels, monsoon radio, sunroof...not sure what else isn't std but they are both optioned nicely.

I really like the silver but I just wish it was a better deal to make me want the SLE. I also think the SLE is slightly...and I mean slightly nicer conditon than the SSEi...but they are both very nice. I'm getting this car mostly for my wife and I'm going to Lease an 06 F150 since I need a 4x4 to replace the Tahoe.

I think I'm going to try to dicker with the dealership with the SLE to see if they will move anymore on price to justify a lesser auto.

I also missed the Premium Fuel part...Is that a requirement on SSEi? and if so what octane 91 or better? or does it need to be 93?

Jerry..thanks for the premium reminder. It'* ingrained...black car...far right nozzle.

The Z71 5.3L probably does about 15 for him.

91 octane is fine. If you changed the supercharger pulley as I did, the higher the better to keep from having knock retard... However many on the club only have 91 as their highest available level of octane.

Yeah I was just curious becaus our local Flyin J has 91 the same price as 89 and their 93 is priced higer like premium...although maybe the 91 isn't as good of quality as the 93...any way...Still thinkin...I appreciate all the input and forsee my self chatting quite often on here...

Boost all the way, nothing like hearing the whine of the supercharger when it kicks in
