New guy with more questions....
Hi all, I'm a new bonnie owner. Actually I've always been a fan of the 3800 with any form of forced induction. So when a 94 SSEI came up for sale for a good price, I was all over it.
I took it to the strip for the first time today, and ran a best of 15.42 and a worst of 16.03. I'm not sure why the big difference. Anybody have any ideas for me? My best 60 ft was 2.27 with a worst of 2.41. Does this sound about right? Only change from best to worst was the removal of the air filter...
I've also noticed that the boost is going down.. When I bought it, it would run right past the last line before the end of the guage (7.5 psi i'm guessing). Now, it hovers around the 5psi mark and slowly goes up with rpm ti first time today, and ran a best of 15.42 and a worst of 16.03. I'm not sure why the big difference. Anybody have any ideas for me? Now, it hovers around the 5psi mark and slowly goes up with rpm till around 5000 then it'* back up to the 7.5 line? dropping with the shift. Any suggestions for why the loss?
Thanks for any help.

First of all, don't worry about all the duplicates in your post. The server just moved to Florida, and I think it picked up a couple rocks of crack on the way.
With the symptoms you're describing, I'd take a quick look under the SC cover for broken, cracked, or missing vacuum lines. If they're all ok, I'd be tempted to change the wastegate valve.
Part number for your 95 is 12353309, and it should be under 30 bucks from the dealer, 15 to 20 from www.gmpartsdirect.com
Since you just bought the car, it would also be a really good idea if you changed the SC oil. There'* an article up in Techinfo if you've never done this before.

Thanks for the tips. I have already decided to change the sc oil. I didn't know about the hoses though, thanks! I have been hearing what sounds like detonation, so I put in some octane booster, and fuel injector cleaner. Hope that help it some. Plus whenever the torque converter locks up I get a detonation like sound. Doesn't matter if it'* in Drive or OD, same noise. Sound like something to worry about?

I will assume that you are using at least 91 octane--93 and up preferred. Also change plugs and wires. Detonation should not occur as we have a knock retard safety feature in our cars.

Thanks for all the tips. The guy who had it before me was a mechanic, and said he did a full tune up just recently. It does have a new set of the cheapest plug wires you can buy on it, so guess I had better bite the bullet and go with a better quality tune up this weekend.
Does anybody else get that funny noise when the TC locks up?
