Mild "dislike" for V8 Mustangs is one thing. Much hated V8 cars, though???
That being said, I do have something planned for the future to address our Mustang friends. I've seen a few of those "Bowties are for little boys" bumper sticker on some fords. So in response, when the McLaren turbos are ready and fully finished, they're gettnig a decal of the Mustang outline in a circle with a slash through it, and under that, it will say "Ponies are for little girls".

I put the same exact thread on here, ClubGP, and 3800forums, and wondered how long it would take for someone to have something cocky to say..
.Like they say...Don't sing it, Bring it...

I'm 100% sure I can find a multitude of cars that would accept the challenge of racing any of your personal fleet...for fun, of course, as that'* what the day is for
For starters, as I said, my....."statement" was more a rebuttal for their statement, as opposed to a challenge (by the way, I thought it was a rather clever play on words, but whatever.... ). That can just as well mean "buy a Firebird if you want a real muscle car, not a Mustang". More over, there are many reasons other then performance for which a person may prefer one car over another, so such a statement should by no means automatically be interpreted as "my car can take any Mustang!". Secondly, I'm specifically referring to my McLaren'*, not the rest of my "fleet". I don't collect the cars I have based on performance. I buy them for the jaw dropping factor their rare features cause, like "wtf do you MEAN it'* AWD???" Luckily, it just so happens everything that makes the McLaren GPs rare and unique is all performance related, so I'll push those 2 to their limits, without ruining what is specific about that particular model.
Also, it should have been obvious that I won't be there by what you quoted (when I stated that the decal will have to wait till the cars are worthy, just as they'll wait for the large ASC/McLaren windshield banners they'll bare). These are project cars that I saved from certain doom, and have quite a bit of damage to be undone due to the retarded previous owners lack of caring, or knowledge. But when all is said and done, I'm shooting for 12'*. We're waiting to see what one owner who'* already at mid 13'* can do with his recent turbo swap. He went from the T25 that the TGPs come with (which he ran mid - low 14'* at), to a GT28R (which ran high - mid 13'*), and now, to a GT3076 (capable of 500 hp). I'll be very surprised if he doesn't hit 12'* when properly tuned. Not bad for only 3.1L of displacement. If all goes well, I will be following his exact formula I'm not interested in going beyond that in what I would like to be a normal, daily driver car. Plus I'm not one for mutilating a car as rare as this to acquire faster times.
And most importantly, I'm not a "hater" (by the way, people need to stop using that retarded, vague "term") of V8s. Quite the contrary, there is still no replacement for displacement in my book if your main goal is straight line power. Sure you can get a 6, or even a 4 for that matter to equal, or surpass the times of a nice, stock V8. But for the amount of money, time, technology, frustration, etc that goes into, you could have STARTED there with an 8. I'm just not all that impressed with the amount of power most of the ford V8'* put out in relation to their displacement. It'* more a rivalry of GM vs. Ford, not V6 owners vs. V8. In fact, I've grown to have a far greater dislike for many '97 & up GTP owners, who think they're superior to any GP that came before, and even hate any '97 & up GP that isn't L67 equipped.
You really have me wondering why you turned a funny little jab in the age-old debate of Ford vs. GM into such a big deal, now.

I'm pretty shocked at how "out of context" you and willwren took my very generic statement about "hated V8 cars"? I guess I simply don't fit in with the clique here or something...
anyway...The invitation was given due to a rather amusing thread about L36'* beating up on Mustangs, posted on ClubGP...I just figured that since I actually posted on this site, that I would also post the invitation here. Especially after being involved with a friendly debate about stock L67'* vs. 5.0'* in the recent past. If I talk trash, I only do so if I can, and will, back it up...I just wanted the people who did the trash talking to be afforded that chance...as it looks, nobody wants to do so...it'* much easier to "talk" about it...
No hard feelings and sorry if anyone took my post the wrong way. It'* not intentionally being disrespectful, and wasn't ever meant to be...
One last thing, I do actually own and drive a Pontiac...95 Bonneville SLE fwiw, but I am very involved with the Mustang world as well...a simple Google search of my user name, or trip to my webpage will show you that..

.but I do like all nice cars, regardless of who makes them. After all, the company I work for provides steel to make all 3 top domestic cars...
