Default Highest HP Series 1 L67?

I was wondering...how high can a Series 1 L67 reach without exotic mods? Like without turbocharging, nitrous, or fabbing up Series II heads :P . And without crazy amounts of capital

I remember hearing something about someone hitting 13s with nitrous...

Well Mr. Wren holds the title for fastest Series I without the juice. 14.665 @ 92.64, and I don't even know how recent that is.

Perhaps he can shed some HP numbers on the situation.

The 14.6 is decieving. I know it sounds like the typical excuse, but I could NOT get traction off the line, and BROKE traction on an NHRA dragstrip prepped for 600' when I hit second gear every time. Many members here were there to witness it, as Matt mentions above.

Had I been able to hold traction, the numbers would have been a bit different.

I have no aftermarket hard parts on my car, and I've never changed anything in my valvetrain, but I don't know the actual numbers for hp or tq at this point. But more is coming this winter.

I would guess a 94 L67 could easily reach 280+hp without MAJOR engine work. But that'* just a quick estimation not based on personal experience.

The video is posted. But remember, a Series 1 is alot more likely to be able to do that than a Series 2, simply because the torque peak is developed at a much lower RPM.

Someone find the link for him.
