'99 Bonneville Horn Problem
I've had a horn problem w/ my Bonnyville for quite a long time which has bugged me, and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem. The horn works about 50% of the time, or so, when I press the horn on the steering wheel. If it'* a real emergency, probably make that working about 20% of the time! Btw, whenever I lock the car with the remote key fob, the horn always honks.
Anyway, a number of years ago, my mechanic replaced the "steering wheel ring wire mechanism" thinking that would solve the problem, but it didn't. Since then, he suspects the problem is the ground wire within the steering wheel not grounding properly. I guess it'* a big job to fix in terms of removing steering wheel, etc...
If anyone has any ideas on this, I'd appreciate it. How hard would it be to supplement the horn with another one that works 100% of the time? Thanks.
