The person claims its a 98, yet it has the 92-95 front end, Series II and the 96-99 Rear end, the pictures look like the same car, WTF?!

Someone did a mix and match. The black strip on the 92-95 front clip was matched to the body, it has 92-95 fenders to make the corner lamps work, and a 92-95 grille.
Looks legit.
EDIT: It has a salvage title, so it has been rebuilt.

The sale says: This car has a prior salvage - only sheet metal was replaced, no damage to engine whatsoever. Runs and drives like new - this is a really peppy car.
Could have got a different grill. Hard to say tho, without seing how the tails wrap around with a shot of the grill at the same time

Looks to be a very good job done on it!
As for getting rid of that black strip, im undecided on what looks better.

The fenders aren't the same profile between the two styles. To make this work, though, the grille, hood, headlights, and bumper would all have to be changed as a group. I'm still not sure how the side marker lights would work, as the newer ones won't fit the older fenders.
I think it'* alot more likely that this is a Series 2 transplant into a 92-95 body.

hmm.. what if they stole the engine pic from somwhere else....
--picture on '1998' ssei
--picture on '1999' ssei...
Rather similer?--duh.. they would be...BUT check everything.. like wires/how fast the engine is spinning, that little spec of dust.. Prove me wrong, but I think the person trying to sell his car as a 98 took the pic from the guy selling the 99.
