Default Buying a flood damaged car?

(link stolen from another club)

If you are lookign to buy a car, especially if it seems like a great deal, put the VIN thru this site first. It will tell you if the car was one of the effected by one of the major huricanes we had recently. This isn't limited to cars from the south, since many actually got shipped north for resale. A member used this on my truck club and found the real reason a sweet truck was so cheap.

Click on "theft and fraud awareness" and then on"flood vehicle database". Scroll down and enter the VIN.
