Default A weird problem

Well i was cleaning mine and my dad'* MAF sensors and when i started on my dads i noticed that his MAF sensor has a metal housing around it which i have never seen before.His car is a 1998 bonneville sse, i never seen something like that before.

I have a 99 bonne and mines not like that, and the few 3800'* that ive worked on have not been like that.

If you mean the large post that goes from floor to ceiling inside the throttle body, that'* normal for earlier Series 2 motors. I think they eliminated it in 99? Anyway, mine has that post. I'll be switching to the postless the next time my car is ready for a Dyno Tune session.
