Anyway I just want to thank Bill, and everyone that he called throughout the process for advice. I'm not sure who was all called but thanks to all of you. You guys, especially Bill pretty much saved my car so I'm very grateful.
Eric, for someone who had never changed oil, you're a pretty darned good wrench. Other than those two fuel rail studs you broke off.

RIGHTY TIGHTY LEFTY LOOSY!

Car is running good? Oil change today?

car seems to be running good. Getting the oil changed later today. This morning around 7:45 when I started it up it seemed to be idling a bit high at 1500 rpms, and its usually 900-1000. After driving for a while it was back to idling normal however at stop lights.

Edit: Oh yeah, how did I get those bolts off if I didn't know of the righty tighty lefty loosy theory?

You snapped them off!

Idle may hunt for a bit until it learns. We cleaned your TB, and lubricated the IAC. That'* normal behavior for a day or two until the PCM learns.

Standard for starving college students. They have a waiver.

Remember this TB was probably original (no cleanings) in nearly 180k miles.

150 rpms at idle...WOW!

EDIT: HEY! You changed it too quickly...!

I thought you were supposed to put the starving students up for a summer?

Good job getting it down Eric.. even if Bill was in your way most of the time.

Bill..how would you rate this compared to an S1 SC?

It was fun, and I learned a lot. Still have some dirt in my fingernails.

Thats good to hear about the idle.

So now I believe that Bill told me to ask jr3800 about coolant. I'm going to need to get the coolant flushed soon and need to know what to buy. Apparently I have a pretty corrosive/sludge building coolant in the system right now, and Bill had told me about another type but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. I lost a ton of coolant with the bad elbow so right now I think Bill had filled what I lost with water. What should I do? I know nothing about coolant.
