Default Transmission Questions

When I come to a stop at a red light and then take off it hesitates and then it jerks into gear. What could be the problem?

That'* what I'm thinking. I have the same problems with 1/2 a tank of gas after getting off the highway. It'* not tranny related. Fuel, likely, but why only after the highway, I dunno.

... the bucking and hesitating is probably not helping out my unhappy engine mounts either...

The funny thing is the engine revs to about 1500 rpms and then it desides to click into gear. It only happens when I come to a complete stop. Now when I got the car the tranny had too much fluid in it could that cause this problem also?

If it is reving like you say, its slipping. Meaning the transmission is indeed going...suggestion..take it to a good tranny shop, get a mechanics opinion from there on in..The fluid on the dipstick might look good, but whats actually in there is a different story..TRUST ME

The transmission has 20,000 miles on it. I do not understand why in the hell it is slipping already.

At first I thought it might be an engine mount. Then you mentioned the 1500 rpm before catching.

I agree with Matt, your best best route should be to take it into the shop that fixed it and ask them to look it over. I would think it might still be under warranty if something is wrong with it.

Well that is the problem the shop that had replaced it went out of business about 2 months before I got the car. The previous owners said that the repair shop would transfer the warranty to the next owner. I have the warranty but no repair shop to take it to.
