Default Updated Series II aluminum LIM Gasket Number

I just purchase a LIM gasket from the dealer. The parts counter man said that he had trouble finding it because of several changes in the part numbers. The one I purchased is part number 89017825. Working from memory, and also comparing it to the picture in techinfo, I see no obvious differences. The old part number is 89017816.

Currently, GMPD responds to each part number as the intake manifold gasket. Interestingly, the new part number is $1.35 cheaper.

What is this? Musical part numbers?

I've been trying to keep track of these things for a book I keep on Bonne info. Plus I'll be buying one for my prev. maint. soon.
