I really don't see the problem with having them in the winter. I'm pretty sure mine are rated to work down to -30, and i know of people in alaska with them. I've never had them fail in the cold, but i don't drive in the salt anyway because it'* salt.

Make sure you put silicone on the screws to keep the salt out of the holes you drill.

I was looking for a few things today and this store was a dealer for street glow. He had a set of Gold Series Blue under-body lights. Retail was 399$ + 15% tax CAD and he told me he would give them to me for 300$ no tax. But I didn't get them since I really have to save up for next years new hobby ( about 2,000$ to start off) and this car is not supposed to get customized since it is my work car, but damn it is so hard NOT to customize when just about every other vehicle you have owned had stuff done to it.

How much do the Gold Series Street Glow go for down in the U.*. anyhow??

Well, i don't know if your winters over there are like they are here, but we get enough snow and salt to rot them in one winter lol lol. I always take mine off because i knew somebody who had a problem with the wires being corroded from the salt and sand, and then one day he bottomed out in the driveway and bye-bye neon lights. All 4 of them were smashed.
