Default HELP!! I need influence..

My friend is looking to buy his first car. He wants a "sports car" like the dodge avenger (blech) or something. Im trying to sway him my way ive got him to a grand am, but he wont go Bonneville because he wants a "sprt" car and wont beleive me that the bonne is performance and luxury, i need all you feedbackon why to go bonne, becasue he wont just take my word (and he doesnt have a car yet so i cant whoop his a$$ with my 3800 ) Oh and he would like to stay around $5000 and low insurance (ie. no SSEi/ SC)

Well if he wants a sports car, a Bonne won't do it....but, to encourage and back or cause.

Today on the way home, despite my need for a tune up and a new cam magnet, I managed to squak the tires out of EVERY intersection. And never getting over 3000RPM, yes the roads were damp after an afternoon of rain but, lets see a less then $5000 sports car do that....

Oh and if he wants a sports car, he better prep for insurance smack down, hate to say it, but if he wants a "sporty" sedan the GP and the GA will do I suppose.

Insurance will smack him up with a sports car. If you want low Ins. rates get a 4 door car with lots of safety features. He should realize that with a sports car people are more likely to do something stupid in it.

If he gets a Grand Am he should go with a 3.4. If not he should get a sc series1 they are cheaper and the car can be made to go fast. If he wants a newer car go for the series 2 in a 1995-97. The series 2 can take alot of mods later on. If your budget is 5000.00 be ready to go over by 2000.00.

Depending on your age.

Tell him that his bonneville will be in for the long haul.
At college it will get his **** from one place to another with very little trouble. Huge trunk, plenty of passenger room. He can even cruise the thing down the boulevard and race all the sports cars. His dates will love the roomy/soft interior, I dont even have to mention the big backseat and folding front seats (oh wait I just did). If he has a long drive from work to home/school I will personally guarentee his *** will never go numb.

This car, regardless of year, will be sporty enough to allow him to show up at parties or transport the family to a wedding.

Once out of school he will find it gets his *** to work on time and hauls dhem damn kids 'round.

Put it this way...my bud drives a sweet *** Accord

But he loves my Bonne....would drive it in a second, in fact he wants my car. I let him drive it tonight. He loved how jumpy the gas was, the feel of the wheel, the ride, the audio, the seats the dash...everything....so let your friend cruize in your car...he'll see

BTW see...it is possible to buy a decent Honda..mod is and not rice it out. Nothing my pal hates more then riced out Hondas

It'* very possible. The only thing ricey about my friends Civic HB is the exhaust, but even then it'* a real Mugen exhaust. He has R2'* lightweight wheels(14 lbs) and a Japanese Integra engine in it. He can chirp the tires in third gear or about 55 mph!
When I think rice I think annoying exhaust and a 100 lbs wing.
