Tuning a top swap
Went down to Germantown, that'* near Milwaukee. To finish up a top swap.
Hooked up the computer and got right to work.
After doing my TnT tune and uploading it to the PCM, we started it up. Ran a little funny. And it never went in to closed loop. Readings said it was running lean, really lean. But I could smell gas in the exhaust. It was idling high, started to slow a bit, then started to back fire out the tail pipe. Engine was running real rough. I shut it down and stated looking at my scan. Just didn't look right. But nothing in the tune should cause this. I looked at the injector tables, that didn't look right, so I checked another tune and changed that table. Started engine and still same problem. I again shut it down. Hmm, pull the supercharger belt. Start, same problem. Again, shut down. Scratched my head a bit. Seems like it'* not firing right. Just then Rich pulled up. He helped finish the top swap. We talked a bit, seems like it'* not firing right. So we checked the plug wires. Yep, 2 and 4 were reversed. So while Rich goes to switch them and brakes a fuel line. Well, now we need to fix that. After all was fixed the engine fired up and sounded great.
Just need to top off the radiator.
Another tune in the can.

Dan.. what kind of timing did you use? Most say that you want to start wtih an L67 and bring the timing down a bit until you can drive it and tune it from a to z.
He'* a prime candidate for braided fuel lines. The L36 lines never do any justice on the L67 rail because they are just not routed/made in the same configuration. Being the nylon, he'll likely experience more issues down the road.
Looks good though, did you get a ride in it? Make you want to do it?

I used a L67 timing table with lower timing.
Didn't get to ride in it, it wasn't totally ready to drive and I needed to get back home.
Yep, I want to do it.
