Default Just got back from the track (7/8/04)

Quite an interesting night. Waited 4 hours in the staging lanes and got in 2 runs. Some drag car wannabe split his coolant hose all over the track on the way down and it took 45 minutes to clean it off. There were WAY to many cars, bikes, little kids on mopeds, etc... Drove 1.5 hours to Xenia, Ohio to meet up with one of the COCGP guys from our club. Weather wasnt too bad was about 82F with a slight headwind.

Saw a couple neat vehicles, including a GXP, F150 Lightning, and a Dodge SR10 Ram with the V10 viper engine.

GXP ran a 15.5 and a 15.3
F150 Lightning I'm guess was pretty modded as it was in the 11'*
The Dodge Viper Ram ran a .... ready?....13.5 MUHAHAHA

Best I managed was a 14.3@99.8 w/ 2.3 60' Not a good night for me, couldnt use ICE to cool down the SC because no fluids allowed in the staging lanes but if I wanted any chance of running I had to stage early and wait for the endless queue to process.

I talked to the guy in the GXP for a bit afterwards and told him about the wheel speed sensors, ELC trick and some other stuff. It was actually his wife'* car and I mentioned he needed to pop online and check us out. We will see if he shows up.

I'd take a 14.3.
Maybe next time conditions will be better (won't have an idiot spraying coolant everywhere).

try puting portable a/c under the hood with a power inverter, that should keep it cool. Better than my run.

That stinks to have to wait so long for 2 runs, Couple race tracks by me are like that gotta wait at least 1 hour a run and that'* with no spills.

What was the track conditions like? Take it not to good, you need a LSD there buddy and some stickies and 13'* got your name on it.

Heh, I cant get there in my dreams. My second run (1st was a 14.5) I babied the car off the launch and didnt preload or anything, not a single chirp from the tires, still got a 2.3 60'

My 14.5 I squaled em all the way past the 60' and they finally caught, guess what....a 2.3 60' Grrrrr
