Thanks! I'd like to stick around after i am done with this slush box nightmare! I have nothing against the Buick V6 like most of the 60* V6 owners. They both have their strong points. You guys dont seem to be asses towards us 3.4 DOHC guys like a lot of the L67 owners, so i dont see any reason to not skick around
jr's3800... you used to be here in the springs? why did ya move? let me know if youre ever back in the area.

Well i ate a 3.4DOHC on monday, in a convertable cutlass supreme.. I didn't think she was gonna fly by me like that once it went to two lanes, but man she had no chance once i felt safe with going a half mile down the road. I didn't wanna earlier cause cops have 4 or so spots they hide at on that stretch....
EDIT: yeah slushboxes, i remember my stick, kinda wish i had it in this car, but it wouldn't have nearly the hoot of driving it if it had a stick...

the rag top cuttys are about 300# heavier than the other W bodies, so they arent too peppy. All the 3.4s are a slouch off the line, but if you keep them above 4 grand, they scream (not easy to do with the 60E). Even my 5 spd is a bit dogish off the line, but it pulls like a train all the way to 7200 . It still puts out decent TQ, too. over 250 ft lbs, but unfortunately, thats not until 5 grand :?

This wasn't off the line, this was her @ 40 or so , while im at a stop sign doing 20 about 6 car lengths behind deciding to shift out of OD and blaze past her I bet it was a slushbox btw on her car though, and drop tops are heavier anyways. She was probably in OD for all i know. She went into my neighborhood and was 1/2 to my house before she turned onto a street, i was kinda hoping she'd come to my house and we could talk about our cars.... Damn a race and a date...

40 mph is the worst speed for the DOHC. they wont drop into first and they are below 4 grand. They will shift into OD at about 35mph if under light throttle. 30 mph is killer on downshift as is 60mph. anything beween there they are dogs. All the rag tops are autos. Dont it suck when they are hot, in a hot car, and dont want to talk

it does decent up here. Its down right nasty at sea level. It'll break the 255s loose at ANY speed in first gear if i tap the throttle. I recently missed 2nd gear at the track at bfest... i shifted from frist to third and still managed to trap at 95 mph, so yeah... its making some decent power (all in a car that weighs 3500# totally emptty with less than 1/4 tank of gas)
