Go for it, Pete. My trans shop was amazed at how effective mine were, and put them right back on the new pan.

I'll take a few off your hands. I can put a couple on my oil pan.

This was taken from a site in their section of 2" wide by 1" thick and larger magnets. A 4" diameter by 3" thick magnet can lift 990 pounds

If carrying one into another room, carefully plan the route you will be taking. Computers & monitors will be affected in an entire room. Loose metallic objects and other magnets may become airborne and fly considerable distances - and at great speed - to attach themselves to this magnet. If you get caught in between the two, you can get injured.
Two of these magnets close together can create an almost unbelievable magnetic field that can be very dangerous. Of all the unique items we offer for sale, we consider these items the most dangerous of all. Our normal packing & shipping personnel refuse to package these magnets - our engineers have to do it. This is no joke and we cannot stress it strongly enough - that you must be extremely careful - and know what you're doing with these magnets.
Take Note: Two Super magnets can very easily get out of control and break fingers and even your arm if opposing poles fly at each other. If working with multiple Supermagnets, always handle one magnet at a time, secure it, then proceed to the next magnet.

I ordered some Grade N40, .5" and 2.7lb pulling power. I'm not sure how strong those will be (probably sifficient), and decided that I can actually go bigger. I'm currently looking into some more sources to get some larger ones in bulk. In upwards of 20 pieces, the prices get expensive though.

I will. Tony is bringing me one this weekend. But I found this site today and figured I'd get more than one. Plus I am really fascinated with the strength of these (I hear HD magnets are strong too) and decided to try them out.

I found some on ebay, 1" dia. x 3/16" thick, super strong (can lift 16lbs). $16 for 10. Seems to be the best price I have found for this size and grade. Looks like 15 packs of 10 available. If anyone tentatively wants some let me know with a reply and how many you think you want. If it'* significant, I can figure out cost per person and order some up by tomorrow at the latest.

Update:

vital49 (previous order)
JWikoff
harofreak
jwakamud

Can I assume 5 magnets each (min.) would be good for anyone who wants them? $8 shipped?

ME - 5
JWikoff - 5
Harofreak - 5
jwakamud - 5

So far total would be 20 magnets for $32 between 4. $8 for 5 magnets. I'll pay shipping to you.
