Bummer. But it made it a long time.
Look at the bright side. How much beer can you buy to drown your misery for the saved cost of the $12 Seafoam?
Cheer up. Shouldn't be too tough to find a lower-mileage working trans in your neck of the woods.

Yea, it really does suck that it had to happen right now...
If it happened like 1 month or more from now i would have an extra $350 per month and i would have the trans in no time.
But... now the SSEi may have to see some up state NY salt :(
Yea i already found 3 trans at a local yard ( www.wilbertsgmparts.com ) for $250
They have the A rating with is around or less then 60K miles on them.
I don't know the warranty on them though, if its not 60days or more im not going to get it there.
Im just hoping my buddy at work can hook me up with a killer deal at his dads shop.
If not i will be trying to do it in my tight garage :?
im just hoping that in 3 weeks they dont sell the one i really want Hint hint for the idea that i have brewing

I have seen transmissions that acted exactly as you have described, pour in some Lucas brand trans fix and drive it to work for another couple of weeks.
I have used the Lucas trans goo on my 1977 GP with a TH400. It had been parked for ten years because the transmission was slipping. My friend gave it to me because he was tired of looking at it. I drove it a couple of miles, just long enough to feel it slip, then poured in the Lucas. I got another 10,000 miles out of that transmission. Then the 301 jumped time, so while that was getting fixed the trans got swapped.
It isn't a "rebuild in a bottle", but for $20 it may get you to work until you can save enough for a trans swap. That Lucas stuff really works.

I am not so sure that the Lucas will work in his case.. Either the pump is dead or the O - Ring seals are blown out, not allowing the Trans to develop pressure...
Last winter we were pretty positive that the Pump was going through a slow death... I don't remember if he used any additive at that point.. But it wouldn't go into gear until it warmed up a bit...
No it looses all forward motion, Once it cools off it'll go again... And Bandit can't be having the car break down on the road.... He'll have to drive the SSEi a little longer than he wanted, and once he'* ready he can get the tranny installed..
Judging from what he told me last night, if the pump wasn't done before its done now
