The dimples and slots above will reduce your braking surface area and not even allow the pad gasses to escape to the outer edge of the rotor.

Water and pad gasses need a slot that continues all the way to the edge in order to work effectively. The rotor features in your pic above are primarily cosmetic.

This is why it'* best to post your ideas first, before you make a purchase.

None of the rotors I have are grooved to the edge. With my 95, the braking has improved over the stock set up. With my truck, the pads I originally got with the rotors were Posi-Quiets (simi-metallic). That combo didn't seem any better than stock and since it didn't help with reduced brake dust i decided to try the NAPA ceramic pads. Those pads made a difference right away. No more brake dust and stops much better. Hawks are suppose to be good pads so hopefully this combo works ok in the 02, my wife drive it anyways and she'* not a fast driver

Painting the rear drums will look lame as hell with those open wheels. Paint them black if anything.

You know its a reall lousy feeling when you have someone tell you you've pissed away your money on something and you shoud go spend more because they have there own opinion (I know, I had it happen to me recently).

If you dont feel they are the best, Don't cut the man down, say "Hey, hope you have good luck with those pads, they wernt that good for me" Or something along those lines.
(After all, its not like the bads will explode and hit car will corrin(sp?) into a wall at 110MPH )

This is NOT a shot at samueljackson more, it my advise to everyone in general, lets try to be alittle more positive when handing out are OPINNION'*
