Medium Size crack in the front windshield going horizontally about 6 inches long.
Gas meter doesnt show the correct amount of gas in the car it moves from full to about 1/4 and back to full when you stop so it is inaccurate. The drivers info center shows 150 miles left then down to 52 miles so it is accurate as far as the meter is showing.
Heater on drivers seat does not stay lit, goes on then off so I assume it is broke.
Radio display half of it is showing up half of it is dark, I assume needs new bulbs.
The remote keyfob does not work to unlock the car. The key is all that works.

The rest of the car is pretty clean. The leather looks in good shape. The steering wheel does not shake when accelerating and at high speeds. The oil looks pretty good, no coolant in it I don't think. It has a few scratches and dings on the outside which is expected for a 6 year old car.

So what do you all think it was a long drive to look at it and the dealer I been speaking to was not there he said he would meet me half way next time I came to look at it.

The air seems cold and the heater is kinda weak, but does seem to be warm.

Let me know what I should do.

Thanks,
For starters since the car has a couple of things wrong with it is that guy willing to take alittle off the price especially since it has a crack on the windshield? As saw gunner had said earlier the fuel sender just needs to be replaced theres a tutorial on the forum and the remote can be fixed unless you want a new remote then you might get a better deal installing a new alarm system that comes with 2 remotes instead of just one other than that the car is definatley worth it. The radio has a bulb that went out inside that can be fixed by soldering a new one but for now if you do plan to get it foucs on the other things first.

I say dwell on what'* wrong, point out your not sure, it has a lot of problems. Say it'* a bit high with all these problems, just don't know if I can do it, I'm going to have to pay to have these fixed. When he comes down, take it. Everything is a easy fix. The windshield is another story. If this is a HUD car, that'* a different windshield, and they cost a fair amount. You can use a standard windshield but the display will not be as clear. I would say tell them the windshield needs to be replaced before the sale to ensure it passes inspection.

Since I am not mechanically inclined all the repairs I would need to get done I would take it to the pontiac dealership to get done. How much would they charge me to fix the 2 important things like the crack in the windshield, the dealer was telling me 110 dollars installed for a new windshield. And I need to know how much the gas floater would be to have pontiac do it. Also it is gonna need new tires in about 6 months, it has about 30 percent tread left. he is asking 3999 and my mustang trade in is going for about 3700 so we are real close, if he would do the trade with no money out of my pocket then it would be a good deal right? He also told me that he had to change the valve gasket covers on the oil, he said it had a slight leak, but now he said it is ok since they changed it, is that something I need to be warry of the valve covers going bad or is that normal for a 153K car? Let me know guys...he is gonna call me back tonight to let me know if he wants to do the trade tomorrow.

Valve cover gaskets are nothing to worry about. With that many miles changing them is common. If you can get it at a even trade, then it'* a good deal. Nothing you listed will stop the car. Unless you run out of gas. I would push a even trade with a new windshield.

Taking it to pontiac is a mistake its going to cost you an arm and a leg because its a dealership but if you have no other mechanic shop then i guess you have no choice. The windhield is not going to be 110 dollars thats probably for a standard windshiled the advanced with hud is going to cost a little more unless you get one heck of a deal the hud isnt much anyway to save you money id just go with a standard windshield. the trade seems even enough go for it. Valve gaskets go bad on all vehicles after a certain amount of miles thats nothing your good to go for a long time if he just changed them. when he calls you take the deal it will be worth it in the long run all that car needs is a little bit of TLC(Tender Loving Care) and for a 6 yar old car its sill looking sharp from those pictures. And you have the forum for any problems that go wrong with the car so you should be set.

Well the guy called and said he would have to look at my car again, after I just went 120 miles round trip to see the car and he wasnt there. Also he said he is in need of the cash instead of a trade, but he did say if the car was in excellent shape then he would just have me pay tax title and licence, and we would do the deal. I really don't think he is gonna go for it tomorrow but we will see, in the meantime I found another SSEi in lewisville which is closer then he was, I test drove it this morning and it seems to be good, nothing visably wrong with it except its an 01 and 156K more miles then the original 03 I was looking at. Here is the link tell me what you think of this one guys:

2001 PONTIAC SSEI SUPER CHARGED BONNEVILLE 3995.00

the 03 is nice because it has chrome rims but with all that stuff meaning problems idk it seems this one is better personally if i had the choice id definatley go with the 01 its basically the same car and with around the same mileage it looks good probably better kept too so if that guy doesnt call you back forget about it try the one from dallas or wherever.

The 01 seems a little nicer shape. 4k miles isn't a huge difference, check the oil and the block by the heads for a coolant leak.

Where are you from Stinger?
