Default Vaccum Pump

Do any major auto parts stores happen to rent a vaccuum pump to evacuate my a/c system? If not does anyone know another method to do this? These pumps are expensive and I would rather do this myself rather than pay some shop. I have all the gauges tools, etc, just not the pump.
