Are your 35W or 55W? I am looking at DDM Tuning, and I was wondering what the difference is between the Slim Ballast and the Apexcone Raptor. And what is the difference between the H1, H4, H6M, etc., etc. Also, I need a conversion kit of each bulb?

We mostly use 35w because with 55w u run the risk of being to bright (getting drivers flashing u even when u are on lowbeams) u can only use HID'* Kits for low beams and fogs, I use the slim ballast just for space and clearance issues. A conversion kit will include ballists, bulbs, connections, ect will include everything needed to do both headlights or foglights. U dont need to buy 2 kits unless u are doing lowbeams AND fogs.

o and the h4, h1, ect is the specific bulb your car and headlight housing requires. My 1992 Bonneville needs the 9006'*

Mine are 35W. And raptor I don't run the risk of being too bright because I have a set of Acura TSX projectors in my headlights

yes, ultimately u will want to get the right headlight housings to go with your HID'* but very few of us do

the main reason very few of us do is because you can't buy a set with projectors, they have to be done homemade and are a PITA

Someone mentioned you can use some blue tint bulbs for high beams that would be just as bright as stock. They will run 90-100 watts (much higher and hotter than stock), will warp or damage your lenses and possibly the housings, and they won't be brighter to boot! Quite the contrary, they will provide a whole lot of useless blue light. If you want brighter high beams, get HIR bulbs or Silverstars. HID'* will be useless as high beams not only because they don't like being turned on and off all the time, but also because they take a while to warm up and brighten up once you turn them, on, which almost defeats the purpose of a high beam anyway.

You **can** use stock housings for HID bulbs without blinding people. I do it with my Bonneville GXP and my 95 Regal. Observe the housings on my Regal in these before and after shots:

Wish I had some photos of the progress so you can see exactly what I'm talking about, but the concept is extremely simple. You paint the bottom reflector in the housing flat black, so light doesn't bounce off of it and up into peoples' eyes. You might be skeptical, but I have VERY little ambient light shining above the focal point of the light beam. Absolutely no ambient light is created by the reflector itself above that light beam with the exception of what is reflected off of the hashed lense, which isn't clear. I even blacked off the top reflector for good measure, which probably hurt my light output a bit, but whatever. 55W HID'* are bright enough as it is.

How do I know it works? Because I stopped getting peoples' high beams all the time. I used to get a high beam 2-3 times from an oncoming vehicle a week before I did that mod, and I haven't gotten any since then.

Brian, your headlights are so cool! Xtremerevolution, yours sound very complex, but creative nonetheless. How do you know what bulb and housing your car requires? Well, I guess since I'll be getting a '92 Bonnevile also, I will also need the 9006, right?

Actually Xtremes are less complex than mine. I like the look of the projectors, so even though I could've done HIDs with the stock refractors I didn't because of the look
