Default History Report

So, can anyone run a vehicle history report for me? I have been following this car for a few weeks, watching the price go down , haven't been able to figure out why nobody'* bought it yet, and I think that I'm getting pretty close to going for it. I asked him a few questions (how many owned it before him, maintenance history, previous problems, and anything else I should know), and he "didn't know" any of the answers. But he did say that everything on it works, and that the paint was faded, so he got it repainted. My gut says YES! YES! YES!, but I'm kinda eerie. So, if anyone has unlimited reports, and would like to help a friend out, thanks . BTW, here'* the car... he started out at $2600... http://orlando.craigslist.org/ctd/1929958627.html

Thanks guys.

Well, he didn't know any answers to my question, which I thought, was a little strange.

Holy crap! I'm definitely getting it! I just went over to Compnine, and...

There are 1 1999 BONNEVILLE SE 4 DR vehicles (0.002%) matching your exact options list. There are 6 (0.012%) with at least as many options.

Carfax, last I heard was no longer unlimited... best of luck getting a CarFactless report on it. Yup, I called it factless, the only way anything shows on a CF is if it went through some of the insurance companies, DMV or a dealership.

My 97 had a perfectly clean bill of health (like many others) and yet the badge on the drivers door is much higher than it should be, there was stuff in the door that wasn't hooked up properly and the door sticker was missing. That door was replaced at the least.

CarFax is pretty worthless, most people just know they bought a car from a dealer and the dealer probably said "little old lady" had owned it prior. The real deal is most folks know nothing about the true history of a car besides how it drove when they tested it.

If you like it.. get it.

Yeah, I knew it didn't show much, but I figured that little info was better than no info. I dunno about AutoCheck, but whatever.

I'd knock 200 off because the ciggy lighter is missing. COMPLETELY missing.

Carfax, Carfox, Autocheck get info from all the same places. DMV and insurance companies.

Best way to get a "Carfax"? Look at the car yourself. Check EVERY single nook and cranny in that car for anything out of the ordinary.

Well, at least I know nobody would be smoking in it. Besides, he already came down $800, and I'm gonna ask him to drive about an hour and a half, so that a "trusty" mechanic can check it out.
