Default GM windows SUCK

Why is GM the only auto maker that can't seem to make power windows? Before I had my bonneville I had a mercury cougar and the power windows went up at least twice as fast if not faster and the windows were bigger on top of it. The driver window motor on my 2000 seems like it already needs to be replaced, I try the other ones and the drivers is only a little slower. Anyone have any ideas on a fix, I thought about looking at the motors from the cougars and see if there is any way to use them on my bonneville.

Mine seem to work fine. The express-down is very fast, almost too fast, as I still need to get the hang of just opening the window a crack without it trying to go all the way down. On mine, just pressing it normally causes it to drop like a rock. I have to barely touch it in order to "manually" control the speed. As far as coming back up, the windows are pretty fast also.

I don't think you would be able to retrofit another manufacturer'* motor to fit your door. I could be wrong, as many auto makers buy their common parts from third-party OEM'* nowadays. In any case, the physical mounting ot the motor and bracketing inside the doors are probably different.

Mine run the same as Jstpsntym'* do. It takes about 1.5 seconds from full open to full close, and vise-versa. My windows are literally at least twice as fast than the ones on my buddies 97 Grand Marqus.

Maybe you can get some from an older Bonneville and they may work better. But then again it could be in the scissor mechanism that is slowing it down too. Just a thought.

Pretty fast here. Maybe time to lube your channels. If that doesn't do it, your regulators may be tired or bound up somehow.

blah, you wanna see slow windows? try having an 80'* lesabre which the windows take up to 2 minutes to close. That'* no joke either.. sometiems the passenger side window is so slow you have to pull it up by hand because it won't even move.

I had an 89 Bonneville, and the windows were much slower than my 93. My 93 has pretty fast windows. I've never tried a 2000-2003.
