Default Tan leather seat interchangeability

I came across a ‘95 in a junk yard with non AL7 seats in good condition - tan color.
I am looking to put the cover from the seat back on my ’93.

Are these the same?
(I thought they changed the tint of the tan color at sometime in the 90’*)

the color of Tan changed in 96-97 to a lighter color

the 95 is the same color as your 93, but the question is do you have AL7'*. Non AL7'* seat backs will not work on AL7'*

92-95 had all the same tan. 96-99 had their own color, and 98 also had its own color.

I have AL7’* - Oh well :(
Is it because the side bolsters are different?

Yes.

I believe one member found a set of tan AL7'* in NH Craigslist for $50 with good leather. might want to check that out.

Is it for both seats or just for the passenger seat? Both the bottom and the top or just the top? I have the back of the passenger side available.

Do you have a link? (search is not being my friend)

Randomirthegreat – thanks for the offer but I already have an extra passenger seat.
The side bolster on my drivers seat just got a hole in it a couple months ago.

IIRC the backs are interchangable. Not positive though :?

Looking at my 94 and 99 seats, I think the bottoms of the 94'* seats are flatter. I just changed them from a 60K-mile 93, so I don't believe they're too worn for a proper comparison. I wonder why the seat bottoms are different if the seat backs have inflatable bags. In the SLE, the backs of the seats look like they have larger "wings."

I think the bottoms are mostly interchangeable, but the non-AL7 seats might sag a bit on the sides. Maybe the backs of the seats without lumbar support might not fit over the AL7 design.

Ok, here is the scoop....

There is NOTHING compatible between the two seat models, though the bottoms *appear* to work.

The fact is they *could* work, BUT...remember where the power seat adjustments are on the non-AL7s? On the bottom...so if you put that skin on an AL7 bottom, you are going to have a nice hole on the bottom with no way to patch it up.

The only compatibility I have run across is that the seatback skins interchange between driver and passenger, but no cross-RPO breeding. Seat bottoms will NOT interchange between driver and passenger in ANY RPO, as the contour of the front lower and inboard framework mirror each other, and the seatbelt loop.
