Default Synthetic oil 5qts for $12.25

Was at Wallmart getting some oil. $12.25 for 5 qt jug of"Super Tech" Full synthetic oil. SM rated Made in USA . I'm sure this is one of the major synthetic oils. I used to do service at the Amoco refinery in Whiting, IN and learned that eventhough they produce and bottle motor oils under various private label names that they are the same if the weight is the same. I am not saying all oils are equal but that all oils produced by the same plant are. They do not have different storage tanks of motor oil for all the different private labels. They do have different storage tanks for different weight oils only. The engineer told me they look at all the specs that there different private labels require and make the oil for the toughtest spec/additive package as this will satisfy the other brands that they produce for . It would be too costly to keep changing production over. I found this very interesting and it made sense once you see the size of there operation. Filling qts, gallons, 5 gallons and 10 fifty five gallon drum fill lines.

Anyone know who produces the "Super Tech" oil ?

Not sure how reliable it is...but according to this forum'* discussion:
Hah, this is a GREAT oil. It shows you can't go by label. It'* made by Warren Performance Products and by ExxonMobil. Outstanding oil for the price.

I currently use Mobil 1 full synthetic, but if you are currently not using synthetic because of cost I would rather you went to the Walmart syn than not. Then, when budget allows, move up to Mobil 1.

Mobile 1, and ticked that sams club increased the price of a 6 case to 29 and change from 26. it'* not like they can claim that it'* because of crude oil prices...
