If you suspect a shock is worn just push down on that wheel with your body wieght if pops up too quickly or bounces. Compare with the other shocks.

There'* a squeak with the left-rear in my family'* Nissan Altima, and yeah, I was also guessing it might have been a bad shock. It only acted up when it was cold... and the noise has almost disappeared in the past little while :?

Thing is, when I go to push that side of the car down from the outside, silence. Car goes down, car goes up, no noise, no bounce.

My 91 had squeeks in the struts. I used "Rust Check" instead of WD40 and it got rid of them.

My 97 is squeeking too... sounds about the same... going to spray it down w/ "Rust Check" and spray the sway bar too.... I think it might be causing 1/2 the squeeks.

I don't know about WD40.... but I prefer to use "Rust Check".... it lubes as well as helps prevent rust. </end sales pitch> hehe

I had my car 'rust checked' localy. I am very impressed with the stuff and am hoping good things in the long run. My dads Ultra was 'Rust Checked' by the previous owner, and the underside is like new, no rust anywhere! My car still 'oozes' and it was done in Oct. I plan on taking it in every fall to get re-'checked'.

You cant buy it over the counter in the states tho, next time im in Canadian Tire I am going to hook myself up!

Well here is another thought. I was at the garage today getting some more work done to the car adn a guy came in and his truck was squeaking from the front.

He just needed to grease the front ball joints and all better now.
